Shuddering from the effort of forcing itself into warp, her Taranis-class Interceptor roared as it sped up in gloriously huge increments, moving at one, three, and now nine AU per second. Entire planets whipped past, the very sun changing its position in comparison to her ship, and the shakiness settled as the Taranis reached a consistent speed. She grinned to herself as she thought of the day to come.
"Warping in," she whispered to her commander, barely trusting herself to speak, her voice shaky and nervous.
It was her first time fighting in massive fleet; her first time fighting in nullsec, her first time working along ships that simply weren't allowed into highsec. Though she'd moved with large fleets before, she'd never flown in a fleet that was 256 pilots strong, with 6 Titans, 7 Supercarriers, and a group of Dreadnoughts. She'd never even fought alongside a single Dreadnought-class before, let alone 17 of them, with assorted Supercarriers and Titans. She'd never had to listen and wait as her FC tried to coordinate with other fleets, either, or felt anxiety as she knew that the enemy's fleet was just as big and powerful as hers. She thought of the untold billions of ISK that would be thrown away if her faction's fleet lost.
Though she was securely anchored within her pod, being fed intravenously and letting a machine breathe for her, she could feel the adrenaline rushing through her veins, she could hear her heart thumping over the rumbling of her ship's engines.
And then the ship began to slow down. The ship began to vibrate again, seeming to tremble with excitement just as she did. Her speed slowed, back down to 1 AU per second, 1342 kilometers per second, and then a mere 17 kilometers per second. Her overview was suddenly flooded with symbols representing enemy vessels, and the observation drones showing her the outside world registered huge crowds of ships, moving in groups or on their own, dodging the salvos of enemy fire. The battle consisted of the Gallente and Caldari navies and militias, and so hybrid turrets released their payloads, burning everything in their paths, while missiles stormed through the air with ferocious tenacity, exploding on contact with thunderous booms that shook her to her very core. Drones, most of them Gallentian, screamed through space, some acting as anti-frigate defenses and larger packs of them taking on bigger prey.
A Supercarrier lost the last of its structure, and it suddenly burst with a furious thundering, the massive explosion encompassing the scores of ships that had surrounded it.
Her ship dropped out of warp, to a measly 420 meters per second, and two enemy destroyers immediately began to lock her.
She laughed through her breathing tube, either in happiness or hysteria, and gunned her engines.
